The Distressed Scenario
Companies undergo financial distress as a result of a variety of underlying causes. No matter what the cause, however, distressed companies all face the same basic issues:
They are unable to pay their debts as they become due, and the going-concern value of their business is in danger of declining precipitously if urgent liquidity and other financial and operating issues are not quickly addressed.
